RAIN shows no signs of receding from its outposts in Florence, Albany, Newport and — now — Lincoln City. By offering regular, high-quality startup events, RAIN has become the go-to source for entrepreneurial support in these communities.  

Lincoln County

StartupLinCo Meetup at Rusty Truck Brewing Co.

Lincoln City had its first sprinkle of RAIN with an introductory Meetup on June 9. Fifteen entrepreneurs, innovators and startup supporters gathered at the new Rusty Truck Brewery to meet other individuals who are starting companies and/or helping entrepreneurs launch and grow businesses in Lincoln County.

What’s Next?

Lincoln County has recently approved $11,000 toward assisting RAIN’s outreach efforts in the county. Lincoln City and Toldeo have also each contributed $3000 to the efforts – totaling $17,000 in year one (July 1, 2016 – June 30 2017). RAIN, the Economic Development Alliance of Lincoln County, the Oregon Coast Community College/SBDC, the Lincoln City Chamber and the Hatfield Marine Science Center will soon be meeting to map-out the next set of events to support entrepreneurs and innovators in Lincoln County. Florence

Fireside-Chat_FloCo

Veteran entrepreneurs shared their stories with the Startup FloCo community at Founders’ Fireside Chat.

On June 1, three veteran entrepreneurs from Eugene shared their personal roller-coaster stories with the Startup FloCo community at Founder’s Fireside Chat. Venture Catalyst Caroline Cummings facilitated an intimate conversation about success and failure between Katie Brown, Founder of Katie Brown LA; Derek Schloss, Co-Founder of Cowbucker; Todd Edman, Founder of Waitrainer.

Albany

Twenty-six entrepreneurs and innovators attended the first Startup Albany Seminar to learn how avoid startup mistakes and write a one-page business plan – led by RAIN’s venture catalyst Caroline Cummings. One Albany entrepreneur, Cynthia Fischer, stepped up to volunteer and help plan and execute the next few events hosted in Albany. whose company. Cynthia is the founder and CEO of The Curriculum Projects, and she is an alum of the OSU Advantage Accelerator/RAIN Corvallis. RAIn is excited to partner with her and Kate Porshe with the City of Albany to continue supporting entrepreneurs and innovators in Albany.
