The 8th annual Willamette Angels Conference, held May 12 in Eugene, was a showcase for companies from Oregon. The two big winners in the Growth Stage competition, as well as all five finalists in the Launch Stage competition, had connections to RAIN.
Code3Simulator, a Corvallis-based company that uses data to help cities improve fire and emergency medical service, received a $300,000 investment, and Agility Robotics, also from Corvallis, received a $100,000 investment. Code3Simulator was mentored by the RAIN Corvallis/OSU Advantage Accelerator and our venture catalyst, Caroline Cummings. Agility Robotics is an alum of the RAIN Corvallis accelerator.
Lola’s Fruit Shrubs, a Eugene based startup, won the Launch Stage Competition by audience vote. All five finalists, which also included Great Life by Lucinda, Lofoodal, The Curriculum Project and Animosa, had each received assistance from RAIN Corvallis/OSU Advantage Accelerator, RAIN Eugene and/or Oregon RAIN.
Overall, it was a very successful year for the conference, in which new records were established for attendance, dollars invested, companies applying, number of angel investors and number of women investors.
